Identity Before Income.

His Image & Likeness Formation Program
Identity Training for the Person Behind the Athlete

The His Image & Likeness Formation Program is an identity and leadership development pathway designed to train the person behind the athlete.

In today’s sports environment, young athletes receive extensive training in every physical area of development; speed training, strength training, skill training, conditioning, and performance development. Parents and coaches invest enormous effort to help athletes reach their potential.

Yet one critical area of development is often missing;

Identity training.

Most athletes spend years training their bodies, but very little time learning who they are beyond the game.

The His Image & Likeness program exists to help fill that gap.

Rooted in the foundational truth that every person is created in the image and likeness of God (Genesis 1:26–27), this program helps athletes develop a clear sense of identity, grounded character, and a deeper understanding of purpose that extends far beyond competition.

While many systems in modern sports focus on performance, visibility, and advancement, few are intentionally designed to form identity, anchor purpose, and prepare young athletes for the responsibility that often comes with opportunity and influence.

HIL provides that formation.

Through intentional identity training, athletes learn to:

  •  Separate their worth from their performance

  •  Develop character that endures both success and adversity

  •  Understand purpose beyond the scoreboard

  • Approach leadership and influence with humility and responsibility

  • Build a foundation of identity that will guide them long after their playing days end

The goal of HIL is not to build platforms for athletes.

The goal is to build foundations within them.

Because when identity is clear, character is strong, and purpose is anchored, athletes are better prepared not only for the opportunities that sports may bring, but for the life that follows.

Who the Program Serves

The His Image & Likeness Formation Program serves athletes between the ages of 12 and 22 who are in critical stages of identity and leadership development.

It also serves former athletes navigating transition and individuals seeking deeper personal formation and leadership growth.

The program operates with intentional selectivity to preserve depth, mentorship quality, and formation integrity.

Program Impact

The His Image & Likeness Formation Program exists to develop individuals, not promote performers. It does not focus on exposure, compensation, or athletic advancement, but on forming identity, strengthening character, and preparing participants for lifelong leadership.

Participants emerge with a clear sense of identity, grounded character, and the capacity to steward both success and adversity. They are prepared not only for the opportunities sport may provide, but for leadership, responsibility, and purpose beyond sport.

The objective is clear: to ensure that an athlete’s gift never outgrows their character, and their platform never outruns their purpose.
